This month, we are demonstrating how forward-thinking approaches — like our safe harbor inventory — allow us to accelerate project timelines and deliver results despite industry headwinds. From closing multiple acquisitions in Illinois and Massachusetts to exploring the economic realities driving the grid's evolution, we remain focused on turning development potential into operational reality.

LET'S ACCELERATE THE TRANSITION AND DRIVE PROGRESS, TOGETHER!

Standard Solar Acquires 6.3 MW Community Solar Project from Calvert Energy

Standard Solar has acquired the 6.3 MW Plaines II West Community Solar Garden in Channahon, Illinois, from Calvert Energy — a strong example of our safe-harbor strategy delivering results. By drawing from our substantial inventory of safe-harbored panels, we can transition projects from acquisition to operation quickly, capture available federal incentives and accelerate clean-energy deployment.

Financing Projects in a Tightening Market

When markets tighten, financing becomes less about spreadsheets and more about ecosystems. In the latest issue of RE:NEW, Megan Byrn, our vice president of business development, breaks down how projects that secure capital today are those supported by strong partners and realistic strategies. She explains that success now relies on three pillars of certainty: cash flow, execution and policy.

Markets Don’t Play Favorites: Why the Grid Selects Renewables

Despite political debates, the economics of the grid are speaking for themselves. A recent article by Utility Dive explores why grid operators and automated markets consistently select renewables. The consensus? It isn't about playing favorites; it's about cost. As the article notes, "Markets don't play favorites," they simply choose the most cost-effective resources to meet demand — and increasingly, that resource is solar.

Expanding Access in Illinois with Cenergy Power

We are proud to announce the acquisition of two additional community solar projects in Illinois from our long-time partner, Cenergy Power. The Worden (6.7 MW) and Zion Park District (2.4 MW) projects will add nearly 9 MW to our portfolio and deliver almost 15,000 MWh of renewable energy annually.

Proof Points: The Grid is Going Green

The numbers tell the story: Almost all new electric generation capacity added to the U.S. grid in 2025 is emissions-free. Solar is leading the charge, expected to account for 33.3 GW of the 64 GW added this year.
